A new podcast telling the story of Joy Division and New Order "like never before" has been released.
The first episode of Transmissions: The Definitive Story was made available yesterday. Narrated by actor Maxine Peake and featuring exclusive interviews with band members Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris, Gillian Gilbert, Peter Hook and "iconic" guests, the series covers the journey the band took from forming Joy Division to New Order's 1983 hit Blue Monday.
Sumner said: “Nothing would’ve stopped us - nothing did stop us, did it? Ian’s death didn’t stop us, Martin’s death didn’t stop us, getting all the equipment stolen didn’t stop us… There was nothing to go back to. There was no plan B.”
The guests to feature on the series include Bobby Gillespie, Bono, Colin & Jonny Greenwood, Damon Albarn, Johnny Marr, Liam Gallagher, Perry Farrell, Shaun Ryder and Thurston Moore.
